Pastor's Welcome
Grace to you and peace in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ! I am the pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Jasper, Florida. If you are reading this page and have not yet joined us at First Presbyterian, I hope that you will. I would love to meet you, and so would the members of the congregation.
Like many of our members, I am a Florida native. I was born and grew up in Jacksonville and worked as a lawyer and mediator before going to seminary. I am married to Charles Hedrick, and we have two grown sons. Several years ago, God called me to go to seminary and become a Presbyterian pastor. After graduation from Columbia Theological Seminary, I served Christ's church in other ways before becoming the interim pastor here.
I love to study God's Word and to share God's Word with others. Sunday mornings here are worshipful in a relaxed and open way that includes people of all ages. Before our 11:00 a.m. worship service, many of us meet in Sunday morning Bible Study. Prayer is a part of all of our activities. Each year, we host a Vacation Bible School that features Bible class time, music, art, games and lots of love.
When I first arrived here, I found out quickly that this congregation savors its fellowship times. As I joined these events, I learned that visitors are warmly welcomed just like family.
Of all the parts of my life as a pastor, the part I enjoy the most is getting to know people. During visiting time, whether a conversation on the sidewalk after worship or a long talk on a back porch, I enjoy sharing life stories and hearing about the ways that God's grace has touched people's lives.
